Come and help us create a real, professionally published storybook!
Get ready for a brand-new family storytelling adventure across six Basildon libraries, where children and families become authors, storytellers and creative adventurers. Each library will create its own chapter, packed with drama, games, imagination and exciting adventures, with all six chapters coming together to create a professionally published community storybook.
And this is just the beginning! Volume 1 launches this October half term, followed by Volume 2 and Volume 3 in 2027. Every volume will bring a brand-new adventure, giving families the chance to return, create, imagine and help write the next chapter of The Great Basildon Storybook.
Come along, let your imagination lead the way, and become part of a story created by the families of Basildon, for the whole community.

The Drama Geezers really brought the energy to the room and got families using drama, drawing and imagination to come up with a magical story. It was like a cool story tag-team as each library added new chapters. We can't wait to see the finished storybook
