The Great Family Storybooks
Every community has a story to tell and we help bring it to life as a professionally published book.
The Great Family Storybooks are large-scale creative storytelling programmes that bring children, families and libraries together to create a unique community adventure.
Working with local partners, The Drama Geezers connect libraries across a borough, transforming them into creative storytelling spaces where children and families become authors, performers and storytellers. Through drama, play and imagination, communities create a shared story that celebrates their local voices, people and places.
From the first idea to the final page, children help shape the characters and adventures, with their creativity becoming a professionally published community storybook, a lasting legacy created by the community, for the community.

The Great Thurrock Storybook
Working with four Thurrock Libraries, The Drama Geezers brought families together to create a unique community adventure celebrating the imagination and creativity of local children. Delivered in partnership with Start Thurrock.
Through storytelling workshops and family sessions, children helped shape the story, which was then turned into a professionally published book, a lasting reminder of the creativity and voices of Thurrock’s communities.
The Great Newham Storybook
Across five Newham Libraries, families joined together to create an exciting nature-themed community adventure, using drama, storytelling and imagination to celebrate Newham Libraries’ Story Garden theme. The project brought stories to life through exploration, creativity and play, inspiring families to connect with nature and create a published community story together.
